Two new high speed lines successfully opened in Spain
Two new High Speed Lines have been recently opened in Spain: the Madrid-Valladolid line and the Córdoba-Málaga line. Dimetronic Signals, part of Invensys Rail Group (IRG) has participated in both lines, and the ERTMS system of IRG has been successfully commissioned and put in service in a high speed environment on the Córdoba - Málaga line.
The Córdoba - Málaga line runs for 155km, with a maximum speed of 350 km/h. Dimetronic Signals was responsible for the installation of 150 Lineside Electronic Units (LEUs), 13 Centralised LEU Controller (CLCs) and 879 eurobalises (both controlled and fixed).
The Madrid-Valladolid line is 195 km, with Dimetronic responsible for the installation and commissioning of the signalling equipment of the line, including WESTRACE interlockings, the ASFA train protection system, the control centre (CTC) as well as the maintenance of the signalling for the whole line.
The successful opening of these lines represents a major milestone for the Spanish Rail Network, illustrating Dimetronic’s ability to work closely with ADIF (the Spanish rail infrastructure organisation) to deliver a world leading rail network.
