Safetran has begun the first installations of its industry-leading Crossing Automated Inspector System on two major eastern railroads in the USA. The system monitors grade (level) crossing warning systems such as flashing lights, bells, gates, etc, for proper operation, performs many of these required monthly tests both automatically and on-demand, and reports alarm and test data to a central office location or a mobile data device. The system therefore reduces crossing down-time and improves crossing maintenance efficiency.
